Our First Day at Convention...

Well, just home from a fabulous first day at Stampin' Up! Convention 2009 (Australia and New Zealand). I had a blast, meeting up with friends, swapping, listening to business forums and playing with goodies at the make n' take session.

I thought I got some lovely shots of Shelli, giving her introductory speech up on stage, but my camera appears to have been freaking out at all the red up there...you can still see that she was enjoying herself immensely...as were we all :-).

This is the stitching on our convention bag...which is a beautiful combination of Close to Cocoa, Kiwi Kiss and...well, the blue is almost Tempting Turquoise, but not quite (I think). It is not quite Baja Blue either.

A groovy little pencil case I picked up at Memento Mall. The pattern is from the Raspberry Tart DSP.

The most important piece of news (in my mind) is the announcement that the Australia/New Zealand market will be moving its new catalogue release date from April to September. This means that the IBC that has just been released will be effective until September 2010. More importantly, it will bring us closer into alignment with the US/CAN market with respect to currency of new releases....WOOOOOO HOOOOO!

Another WOOOOO HOOOO moment came when Kellie and I won a prize patrol. We go the Cheep Talk stamp set:

Well, I'm pooped! I'm gonna go to bed.

Hope to be back on Sunday with some more updates.

Have a great weekend,
Sam.

Hey Sam,

Thanks for updating your blog about convention this year I decided not to go for many reasons but thanks for the update now I don't feel like I have missed out on so much just hearing what is going on makes me feel a part of the hype. Congrats on winning a prize. Love the little pencil case. Oh and love your swap cards. The girls that receive them will be so lucky. Love them. Hope you had a lovely day today as well.
