Party Time...

Miss 5 had her birthday party today, and I think it went pretty well...not that I remember much about it...it was a blur of games and food and kids ;-).

Here is the cake...

...and yes, it was enough for a football team (it still is). I spent Saturday baking and cutting out the base...I used 6 buttercake mixes!!!

I got the design from the Woman's Weekly kids cake book. I have a couple of 'issues' with how she turned out, but after spending 2.5 hours icing and decorating her this morning...I let it go, she was how she was ;-)!

I also had some fun making little goodie bags for the girls:

I hope that your weekend was peaceful. I'll be hoping for one of those myself, next weekend...hehehehehehe!

Sam.

Glad the day went well though - can see you unwinding in front of "Bones" tonight with a nice glass of wine!

I tend to be a little bit like that with my kids parties too, my babies 3rd birthday was on the weekend I spent hours making a rainbow cake! I agonised becuase that is not how it looked in the book yet everyone there thought it looked amazing, sometimes we are our own worst critic! You did an amazing job, you daughter & friends must have loved it!!

PS If only cakes were as easy to work with as paper!

OMG Sam, this must have taken ages. It's a long time since I've iced a birthday cake but I can still remember how much time and effort went into it. Fabulous work.
