I'm blue! Love a bit of blue. Love a lot of blue in fact....so when I first saw this week's Twisted Tuesday Challenge #19 - Are You Blue? on Jeanette's blog, I knew I had to play. The challenge involved making something predominantly blue, with only one other colour.
Here is my blue card, made earlier this week, but not photographed until today because...well, just because!
Check out the shimmery finish on the petals....a gift from my blogging buddy Debbie! |
This card, looks simple enough, but actually caused me no end of grief. The first try ended up with multiple crooked layers and patchy stamping. It's a shocker! Even this one disappointed me with the Pacific Point ink coming through the Whisper White craft ink of the sentiment. Note to Self: WAIT UNTIL CLASSIC INK IS FULLY DRY BEFORE OVER-STAMPING IN WHISPER WHITE CRAFT INK!! You'd think that would be obvious, but not for this nutty little crafter.
My husband was very amused to see this card sitting on my craft desk, as he later presented me with a gift...which could itself have been the inspiration for my card, but I hadn't seen it when the card was completed. Must have been having a premonition...I promise I didn't peek!
This is a little portion of my beautiful gift...

Hi Sam!
I've just been reading over your recent blog entries - I take it you are not in Canberra for a while!
I did reply to your message on facebook but I figure you don't check it very often.
I'm impressed with how busy you have been creating all sorts of things! I have dragged out some old sets today and found new inspiration from them but haven't found so much time to prioritise craft lately.
Anyway, as usual something else is going on that I need to go and do - I guess you know how that goes!!!
It was great to hear from you recently and I hope all is well for you and your family - wherever you are!
Cheers,
Veronica.
Gosh my Nana used to say tootles thanks for reminding me. :) Love your flower what a great color how amazing is it that your hubby gave you that picture on the same day. Funny how things like that can happen sometimes. Sandy :)
I'm so glad you found us! Great card! Thanks for playing at Twisted Tuesdays :)
Such a pretty card! Thanks for playing along with us at Twisted Tuesdays! :)
Your card is GORGEOUS!!!! Full of fun details. Love it!!! The boat fest looks like a real hoot. Henley on Todd...is it anything like Henley-on-Thames?
BTW, I've learnt the hard way: never EVER say "simple" to a card. It WILL hit you back with a vengeance that will haunt you for months, or maybe it only happens to me...lol.
Lovely card, super flower and nice idea to add the faux stitching all around the edges. Thanks for joining us this week at Twisted Tuesdays challenges!
You have such a funky style, Sam! So bright & fresh! Hugs xxx
