Where have I been?

I am sorry for my blog-absence of late. I've been hanging out in Forks, Washington...in my head, at least (that'd be a loooooooong way to go for just three days ;-).

I went down to our local mall on Sunday to start my Christmas shopping. Hubby had the kids and I was set to get underway! I kind of got sidetracked though. I suddenly thought that seeing a movie might be in order so I wandered in and saw that there was a movie called Twilight on. I had not read the books, didn't know anything about it other than that it had something to do with Vampires...so I got my popcorn and headed in!

WELL! It was kind of a mistake, because I couldn't let it go! I walked out of the cinema (on a high) and went and bought the next three books (New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) and proceeded to devour them...finishing them up last night. WOW. I loved them. I'm going to go see the movie again as soon as I can, then go and read the first book (which I didn't read because I was too keen to know what happened after the movie left off). I'm not going to give anything away!!

Seriously though, I feel like I've been on a holiday, and for the price of a movie ticket and three books (and a couple of late, late nights)...that ain't too bad!

Hope your Christmas shopping is further advanced than mine :-).
Sam.

Hi Sam I've only read the first book & couldn't put it down, started one Friday night & finished it Saturday arvo - totally engrossing but exhausting. I'm too scared to pick up the 2nd as too much to do.

Karen
PS have a great Christmas

LOL Sam, I know totally how you feel! Except I read the book before seeing the movie (loved the movie, loved the book but find myself constantly pointing out differences even though most of them didn't bug me!). I'm not touching the other books until after Christmas as I have far too much to do before then. But I have been back to Forks a few times...

Hi Sam, You are so funny. I was introduced to Twilight about 5 months ago and my mind is obsessed with Vampires, nothing else got done whilst I was reading the books. I have also passed on the addiction to many others who now curse me for their new found addiction. The book puts the movie to shame but Edward is definately some mighty fine eye candy and I too want to see the movie again. Hugs Teresa

lol @ you Sam! My hubby pointed out the books to me about a month ago. Bought one, then another, then another. so addicted was I! - I have yet to read the last one in the series but think (hope)that santa may bring that to me in a stocking. I am the sort of person who wont see a movie if I have read the book as I have been let down so many times before. Let us know what you think about the comparisons Sam (hugs)

Hi Sam. You must read the first book so much more in it as always than what the movie can include. I will say though that I'm still very happy with the movie and have watched it more than once.... There are some differences but it still portrays the love story well so none of the alterations have bothered me at all. I'm going to reread the books in the new year. Can't wait till 2010 for the 2nd movie now.... why so long away.....

OMG! I just laughed when I read your blog today. I know exactly how you feel. I'm at the end of the last book which I hope to complete this weekend. But, from the time I picked up the first book I was totally hooked! I have to go back and see the movie again too...loved Edward! My kids just roll their eyes and laugh at me when they see me reading the books. I had put a little entry on my blog about it too :o). Have a wonderful Holiday!

Yes well Nikki S did warn us they were unputdownable. I read 3/4 of New Moon in one sitting. I loved the movie and think I will go again too. I'm reading Eclipse now but have been pacing myself as 1) I don't want them to end and 2) too much other stuff to do!!!!

PS: did you know that Edward's character is the same actor who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire??

Sam - you are hilarious! I just visions of you toddling off by yourself into the movies with your popcorn! Glad you loved it!

OMG, I can relate, I discovered the Cullen family just recently and have devoured all four books. I had about 50 pages of the last book to go and I didnt want to finish it because I simply cant go back to an ordinary book!! I caved over Christmas and finished it, I loved it but boy do I miss them all!

I know I'm a bit late with this post...but I'm on the Twilight bandwagon now! Took myself off to see the movie yesterday (gotta love school days), fell "unconditionally and irrevocably in love" with Edward, and headed straight to the bookstore on my way out. No stamping going on for me for a while - too busy obsessing. Txx
