Color Inspiration #16

It's that time of the week again....Kristina's Colour Inspiration, and here are this week's beautiful colours:

...and here is my card:

I've used the Nursery Necessities Stamp Set for the boats and the 'rock-a-bye Baby' sentiment, and the Linen Background stamp on the Soft Sky background cardstock (but that might be a bit hard to see here). The scalloping was done with the Stampin Up! Corner Rounder, and then pierced. I've also used some Soft Sky Double-Stitched Ribbon and Silver Eyelets to finish it all off.

Okay...gotta get back to Spooks. It's a bit exciting tonight :-).

Have a great weekend,
Sam.

Colour Inspiration #15

I know I've missed the cutoff for this week's Color Inspiration on Kristina's Blog, but I'd already started it and wanted to finish it...as you do ;-).

Here are Kristina's colours:

I thought that they would be really easy to work with, but I struggled.

Here is my card:

I've used the True Friend stamp set and Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, both of which will be available from 1st August, when the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue goes on sale in Australia. The Close To Cocoa velvet ribbon is from the Theatre Ribbon Originals set. I've done some Paper Piercing around the edge of the Close To Cocoa layer, and I have also sponged Classic Ink on the Close To Cocoa and Really Rust layers. I've used lots of Crystal Effects on the central flower image. LOVE that stuff!!

I hope that you are having a great weekend :-).

Happy Birthday Mum :-)

This card is a CASE of one by the wonderfully talented Silke Ledlow.

Silke's blog is one of my favourite places to browse. I saw this card back in April and have been meaning to CASE it ever since.

The colours are Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Real Red and Whisper White. The Old Olive flower centre-piece and the 'celebrate' sentiment are both from the Stampin' Up!s Love and Happiness Rub On set. The card measures 5 x 5 inches.

What else can I say? Happy Birthday Mum, and thank you Silke!!

Sam.

A big shiny trophy...

...for me! How exciting :-).

I'd like to thank Dallas Varoney and Diane Barnes for my nomination...thanks girls!

Linda's Shirt and Tie card

I found the instructions for this groovy card on Linda Heller's Stamping School, and just had to make it (you need to be a member in order to see the video and instructions). I know it's early, but it would make a great Father's Day card!

I used the Spring Showers Designer Series paper because it has been in my head ever since I received this beautiful card from my friend Di...

Thanks again Di....it certainly did make me smile :-).

Hope everyone is having a nice week.

Another Colour Inspiration card...

Here is another card I made for Kristina's Color Inspiration this week.

I've used lots of ribbon....Ribbon Originals, new and retired, and a rub-on from the A Perfect Day set. Have I told you how much I love Stampin' Up! Rub-Ons? They are very high quality. I have not had one crack or rip, and they go on really easily.

Thanks for stopping by!
Sam.

Colour Inspiration #14

Time for another Color Inspiration from Kristina!

And this is my little card (it is 4" x 4"):

Here is a close-up showing the Crystal Effects highlights on the cupcake icing and candle flame.

The stamp is from the Birthday Best stamp set and the velvet ribbon is from the Beachfront ribbon originals. The DSP is from the Apple Cider paper collection and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from the A Perfect Day Rub-Ons (both of which are Spring Mini sneak peeks ;-).

Thanks for looking!
Sam.

A sneak peek...

I thought I'd post a little card that I have made using some of the soon to be released Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue items.

Stay tuned for more sneak peeks!

Triangle Trifold and Pocket cards

I just wanted to show you the cards we made at my last class.

The first was a Triangle Trifold card, and the instructions for making it can be found on Splitcoaststampers. We used Berry Bliss DSP and Purely Pomegranate Textured Cardstock for these cards:

Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to make the groovy matching envelopes on the night, but I have since learned how to make them. Check out Lin Mei Yap's awesome online tutorial for simple instructions. See this post too for a conversion equation! Yes, this girl has truly done her homework and this is such an easy way to make a square envelope. Thanks Lin Mei!!!

I don't know that you can see in the above photos, but we have added Crystal Effects to our cake...for icing and candle flames. Check out the close-up below:

The second card was a Pocket Card, and the instructions can also be found on Splitcoaststampers. We used Jersey Shore DSP and Brilliant Blue cardstock for ours:

Last, but not least, I wanted to show you a little card that I made with Miss 4 on the weekend:

She had a party to go to, and we decided it would be nice to make the Birthday girl a card together. Miss 4 did all the stamping herself, and put all the SNAIL adhesive on the cardstock and stuck the blossoms on too. I think she did a fabulous job!

Have a great rest-of-the-week!
Sam.
