Woah there! You are NOT dreaming...I've made a card...AND I'm posting it here! The sky is falling, the sky is falling...run little chicken, RUN!! It has been SO long since I last posted that I can't remember how anything in here works (it has taken me about two hours to get the photos sorted...UGH)...but that is all kinda irrelevant because it is unlikely that anyone even checks this poor Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08025117568106142238noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509000301476816377.post-89636462149695906082013-09-26T13:55:00.000+10:002013-09-26T13:55:16.336+10:00Apologies for being a totally hopeless blogger...

I ran the Blackmores Sydney Marathon in...well, Sydney (DOH!)....and I am still feeling giddy with excitement at having finished. This fun little creation has been lurking on my computer since back in April! It is the party invitation for Master 7's 2013 birthday, and as you might be able to tell...he is something if a Star Wars fan.
This invitation was created using Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio (MDS). I have been having a lot of fun with MDS lately. The possibilities really are endless!

Hey there blog buddies! Loooooooong time no blogging in here. I'll be surprised if anyone is still checking this poor old neglected neck of the cyber domain. I am going to try and spend a little bit more time in here. I have really missed my blog garden, and the friends I have made through it!

Well, it is that time of year again. Little people party time! It is fun, but boy does it take a lot of effort.
Miss-almost 9 asked me if she could have a Moshi-themed birthday party this year....and I of course said...'why, yes boss, right away boss'! I did try and make some Katsuma-esque punch art, but it didn't look very convincing to me, so I went back to the drawing board.
Thank Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08025117568106142238noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509000301476816377.post-13236794689361799742013-04-13T15:29:00.000+10:002013-04-13T15:33:43.643+10:00Gonna be organised for Mother's Day this year!
I made a card for mum this week. I had this brainwave and thought I'd try and get my skates on and finish it before Mother's Day this year.....cool idea eh? If I get it in the mail some time this week, Oz Post might even manage to camel it to Sydney in that time too. Happy days! Next thing you know they'll be using coaches...then look out world, here we come!!

Just a few more pics I haven't had a chance to post yet. As part of my recently acquired Stampin' Up! starter kit I bought the Bigz XL Flower Folds die, and I couldn't wait to have a play with it. I didn't want to waste cardstock while I gave it a test run though, so I used some Multix Baking Paper instead. Just a little more My Digital Studio (MDS) tinkering that I thought I'd share with you here. I thought this would be a cute idea for a boy's party invitation. You can easily whip one of these up in MDS, and then either print it at home, or perhaps even through something like Vistaprint (although I'm not sure you'd ever need 50 of these....would you??).

I made this little blue beanie a few weeks back, but forgot to pop up any pictures in here.
I bought the yarn from my favourite online yarn store, Deramores. It is made using Sirdar Snuggly Smiley Stripes DK in Hulabaloo (50 grams, 95 m, 80% Bamboo and 20% Wool)...check it out here. I used about 1.5 balls to make this beanie. It is crocheted using the Bob Wilson half double crochet beanie Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08025117568106142238noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509000301476816377.post-43597565350108448412013-03-28T19:38:00.002+11:002013-03-28T19:56:24.660+11:00Tinkering with MDS...
Earlier this week Stampin' Up! released MDS (My Digital Studio) in Australia, and because I am going to convention in Brisbane (hooray)...I got a free copy (double hooray)!! This afternoon I thought I'd have me a bit of a tinker with it, you know...push some random buttons and see what happened. Well, I pushed buttons for a good bit longer than I intended to, but I did have a lot of fun.

I think we are a bit like many other households with young boys, lotsa Lego love here! I am continuously tripping over the stuff too, and getting little ouchy bits stuck on the bottom of my feet has me thinking about Lego lots, which has resulted in the following card...
The Lego pieces are far more convoluted these days. They are not designed simply to build a house or car, but Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08025117568106142238noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509000301476816377.post-36777926898367939472013-03-10T18:32:00.002+11:002013-03-10T19:13:23.328+11:00All the world is birthday cake,...
...so take a piece, but not too much (George Harrison). Been thinking a lot about cake of late. Partly due to the fact that I am seriously cake deprived right now, and partly due to the fact that April/May is party central in this house and cake is on the menu (as always).
This year I decided I'd try and step things up some, and enrolled myself in a one-day course at Charles Darwin Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08025117568106142238noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509000301476816377.post-61116019360450378302013-03-09T09:00:00.000+11:002013-03-09T09:00:15.618+11:00Crochet Beanie Floral Edition...
After I finished my first crochet beanie, which you can see here, I found a tutorial for a pretty crochet flower which I also wanted to try. You can see the tutorial here. Clare makes it so easy to crochet something for the first time!

I have recently joined a crochet group here, and we get together every second week and crochet and chat, and it is such good fun! I have been working on my ripple blanket at our get-togethers, but was recently inspired by one of the ladies to try and crochet myself a beanie.
I have never crocheted a beanie before, and had no idea where to start, so I used the fabulous half double Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08025117568106142238noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509000301476816377.post-7056827034573374392013-02-04T22:36:00.000+11:002013-02-05T10:38:18.655+11:00Thomas the Tank Engine is a cake!
We had a little Thomas Party on the weekend for Master 2, complete with Thomas cake of course. Thomas was a wee bit wonky, but apparently that's because he was taking the bends on Sodor too quickly... always trying to be a useful engine is Thomas!

Feeling just a tad pleased with myself today. Yesterday I finished my very first Triathlon, and NO...no ambulance was required! It was the Frampton's Women's Triathlon, held by the Alice Springs Triathlon Club in...you guessed it, Alice Springs.
It was a small triathlon, 100 metres swim, 5 kilometres bike ride and 1 kilometre run, but it was so much fun. Thought I'd stop and say hi, and Happy New Year!
I know it has been quiet in here, and I apologise for that. Craft just hasn't been high on my to-do list lately. Perhaps on one of our upcoming 43/44 degree days my cool craft room will beckon ;-).
In the mean time, this was the view from our bumper bar today:
We drove about 400 kms on 4WD tracks around Alice. We went up to Gemtree and the Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08025117568106142238noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509000301476816377.post-51913345419111613712012-11-05T18:42:00.000+11:002012-11-05T18:42:28.948+11:00Dreams of a Secret Garden...
That's what these earrings made me think of while I was making them. The book...The Secret garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. What a lovely story, and what a wonderful garden I saw in my imagination. I imagine that some of the flowers in that garden may look a bit like these fabulous floral glass focal beads by Laura Critchfield of Chestnut Ridge Designs on Etsy.
What do you think? Samhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08025117568106142238noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8509000301476816377.post-39908184741520932082012-11-04T16:38:00.000+11:002012-11-04T16:38:37.301+11:00Punch Art Santa Candy Cane Tag
I have had a little photo from Patty Bennett's blog on my desktop for ages. It was one where she made a cute punch art Santa and used him as a topper for a licorice stick....see her post here. I thought her little Santa was just irresistibly cute, so I had to CASE him for myself. I have made a few small changes here and there, and am very pleased with how he turned out...

Not feeling all that much craftin' love right now...but I've pulled out all stops to come up with a little something quirky to pop up here, just so you know I haven't abandoned my blog.
I have been thinking about lady beetles a lot lately. This is mainly because we seem to get quite a few of them up here, and I do like their polka-dotty cuteness. So Dotty the lady beetle it is...

I have no idea what the technical term is....wine glass tags, wine glass markers? The doovers you put around your wine glass stem at a party so you don't lose your drink. You get the gist, no? Well, on one of our recent 41+ degree days I was sitting and fiddling with my wine glass stem (as you do) and I decided I'd make some for myself (taggies, not wine glass stems).
