My cardmaking tale of woe...

You remember the stall I told you about three posts back? Well, I made a bunch of handmade cards for that stall. Including the Father's day card shown below. Can you guess how many cards I sold? I'll give you a hint.....None! Zip, zero, nada, nothing, nil, not a single one. So now I have a sizeable collection of hand made cards, almost half of which are Father's day. What does one do with multiple Father's day cards, two weeks out from the event? Want one?

The shirt on this one is folded following a tutorial posted by Cambria Turnbow. The paper is Treehouse. The colours are Cranberry Crisp, Marigold Morning, Buckaroo Blue and True Thyme. I did have a brain fart somewhere along the way and a couple are made with Brocade Blue instead of Buckaroo Blue. Does anyone else find these two difficult to differentiate after making cards for hours on end? I have also used some of the Cranberry Crisp stitched Grosgrain ribbon.......ribbbbbboooooooooonnnnnnnnn (think Homer Simpson and donuts).

Black and White card variation

This card is a variation of another card I made earlier this year for a Black and White only swap. I changed it so I would be using Basic Black ink instead of Whisper White. I couldn't have the make n' take participants waiting for four hours for their ink to dry ;-). The background is done using the Spritzer tool (AKA snot sucker). There are a couple of different stamp sets you could use for the lines and the heart. the heart is embossed white. I think the workshop participants enjoyed making it. It has a few different techniques, and is not too time consuming.

PS. My apologies about the watermark. It seems to have faded AND grown since I last used it. I will try and make a new, smaller one soon.

More matching goodies

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy making matching goodies :-)? Here we have some ribbon samplers, cardstock samplers, a sponge and a little thank you card. The colours are Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red and Brocade Blue.

My local School Fete stall

Sorry I have been AWOL for so long. Lots to do, no time to do it :-).

I spent a fair bit of time getting ready for a local school fete. Here are a couple of pictures of the stall. It was a fun night. I made a couple of sales, made a donation to the School and met a couple of nice fellow demos.

Are you over these colours yet?

My apologies if you are. I will try and move on to something else for the next one. Change is good! Change is good! Change is good!

Cardstock colours are: Old Olive, Regal Rose, Rose Red and Whisper White. Ink colours are Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, Rose Red and So Saffron. Stamp set is 'You Make Me Happy'. The flower is inked in Regal Rose then Rock n' Rolled in Rose Red. It is mounted on dimensionals. The flower centre is inked in So Saffron and anchored with a Certainly Celery brad. The stem and leaves are Certainly Celery. The Hemp Twine has been coloured Certainly Celery with a Stampin' Write marker. The rest speaks for itself.

Now to go dream up another colour combo. Have a great day!
